Traditional Marquee for a Home Wedding
After an initial phone call to discuss options for a June wedding at home in Ledbury, we emailed over our marquee picture guide. Alan initially wanted to use a barn at home to hold the wedding of his son and future daughter-in-law and their 100 guests, but following on from our conversation he decided on an initial quotation for a Traditional Wedding Marquee.
The quotation included a 50’ x 40’ Traditional Unlined Marquee with naturally finished king poles and coir matting on a polythene underlay. One long side and one short side of the marquee contain 100’ of panoramic window walls.
We arranged a site visit with Alan to measure everything up before we made any adjustments to the quotation. Alan mentioned that he would like walk way matting in between the barn, toilets and marquee. We added this extra matting to the order and the CAD plan.
We were also able to take care of booking a PA system and shepherds hut toilets from our preferred suppliers. This means that we will arrange the delivery and collection of these services.
We call Alan a month before the event to confirm his order, plan delivery and collection dates and the final guest numbers. Paperwork is prepared for loading, delivering and building the marquee. This is also the time we will require the balance payment.
For the internals of the marquee Alan decided on 5’6 round tables seating 10 guests to a table. The chairs were a natural banqueting chair and cushion. It was decided to use the barn for dancing in and a 24’ x 18’ black and white dance floor was laid for this purpose.
The lighting in the main marquee was provided by 2 wrought iron chandeliers on a dimmer. We hung black festoon lighting on piles between the barn marquee and toilets.
Alan was excited to see us on site. He took these candid pictures of our team unloading and in the first stages of the build. He was also on hand with plenty of tea and biscuits for our guys. The finished marquee looked beautiful with the customer’s own decorations inside. We so very grateful for the lovey photos Alan was able to send us following the event with this lovely message ‘Really, really pleased dealing with yourself, Jim, Phil and the installation team’ .
